Chaos as building collapses in Sydney Rd, Brunswick

The area next to the building on the corner of Sydney Rd and Albion St, Brunswick, was being cleared when the clinic collapsed just after 2pm, throwing rubble and debris across the road.

A police spokeswoman this afternoon said workers at the site reported to authorities that the building was unstable about 1.45pm, and people were evacuated from Dr Seham Mostafa’s clinic and surrounding building – including the Farah Ibrahim Pharmacy soon afterwards.

By 2.10pm the building was in ruins. There have been no reports of injuries.
